"I had been avoiding mobile banking for two years because I was afraid of pressing the wrong button and losing money. After the digital banking programme, I use KBank every day without any worry. The facilitator never made me feel slow — she just kept explaining until it made sense."

"I came in with three insurance policies I had been paying for years without understanding what they actually covered. By the end of the programme, I knew exactly what each one did and what it didn't. I ended up cancelling one and adjusting another — nobody tried to sell me anything different. That was the most important part."

"After my husband passed, I had to make several significant financial decisions on my own for the first time. The mentorship gave me a calm space to work through them without anyone pushing me toward quick answers. I would have preferred slightly more structured sessions in the early weeks, but overall the support was exactly what I needed."

"My son kept telling me to use PromptPay but I was nervous about it. The programme covered exactly the kind of everyday things I needed — paying bills, transferring to family, checking balances. Now I check my account myself every morning. Small thing maybe, but it feels like a significant change."

"I didn't realise how many gaps existed in my health coverage until we went through the policy together. The facilitator walked me through every section without any agenda other than making sure I understood it. I left with a clear list of what I needed to ask my insurer — and I actually used it."

"I was considering selling a piece of family land and had received several conflicting pieces of advice from different people. The mentorship gave me a structured way to think through the decision without the pressure of other people's interests. The mentor's job was clearly to help me think clearly — not to push me one way or the other."

Participant Stories

Three more detailed accounts of how the programmes played out in practice.

Challenge

Approach

Outcome

From cash-only to confident

Digital Banking Navigation

Challenge: A retired school principal in her mid-60s had never used mobile banking and avoided it out of concern about making irreversible errors.

Approach: Four sessions using her own KBank account, progressing from balance checking through to transfers and bill payment. Two additional practice sessions used the available follow-up offer.

Outcome: Now manages all routine household payments digitally and has helped her sister get started with the same app. Duration: 6 weeks including practice sessions.

Challenge

Approach

Outcome

Understanding what was already owned

Insurance & Protection Review

Challenge: A small business owner held five separate insurance policies purchased at different times but had no clear picture of combined coverage or overlap.

Approach: Sessions focused on mapping all five policies side by side, identifying duplication, and understanding what was and wasn't covered in each.

Outcome: Consolidated to three policies with clearer purpose, reduced monthly premiums by approximately 22%, and entered the next renewal cycle with specific questions prepared. Duration: 2 weeks.

Challenge

Outcome

A clearer view of a difficult decision

Financial Decision-Making Mentorship

Challenge: An adult in his early 50s had received conflicting family pressure about how to manage proceeds from a property sale, with family members advocating different and incompatible uses.

Approach: Ten weekly sessions focused on separating the financial considerations from the family dynamics, structuring decision criteria, and building confidence in the participant's own judgement.

Outcome: Reached a clear decision with documented reasoning — giving him a stable position to communicate to family members. Duration: 10 weeks.
